Caledon Meals on Wheels received an $11,000 donation from HB Group Insurance Management Limited (HB Group), part of The Co-operators, earlier this year, on behalf of Nancy Hains, a Co-operators employee. Every year, HB Group runs an employee donation program, “Suggested by YOU Donation Program,” that enables employees to choose three to four charities that they would like HB Group to donate to. Employees are asked why they would like the company to contribute to their charity of choice and what their involvement is with the organization.

Caledon Meals on Wheels is dear to Mrs. Hains’ heart as her husband, Brad Hains, is CMOW’s acting Board President and has been a CMOW volunteer for many years.

Mrs. Hains is very happy that HB Group Insurance Management Limited was able to grant CMOW this generous donation and she hopes to become a volunteer with CMOW when she retires.

The Co-operators Group of companies has a long history of giving and community involvement. At HB Group they believe in supporting communities and have demonstrated this in the past through corporate donations and staff involvement in many charitable initiatives.
