Caledon Meals on Wheels celebrates its volunteers

With every meal delivery or friendly call, Caledon Meals on Wheels (CMOW) volunteers touch the lives of many residents in Caledon and Orangeville.

While our volunteers may not always understand the ripple they create with their kindness, smile and compassion, they are in fact making a difference each and every day.

Their commitment and passion was celebrated during the National Volunteer Week with a luncheon, cake and entertainment. The CMOW Board of Directors recognized Don Shoemaker with the Hector and Rita Sonier Award. With 26 years of volunteering with CMOW, Don was a shoe-in! Don’s dedication and longevity of commitment is true amazing!

Service awards were also presented to Wayne Tweedle, 5 years; Elizabeth Morton, 10 years; Brenda Laird, 20 years; and Barbara Mathews, 25 years.

Thank you to all our wonderful volunteers. We couldn’t do it without you!
